Spaniards in Hackney

Inspired by excellent tongue-in-cheek street art found in East London that states “You may have Gibraltar, but we have Hackney” in reference to the historic territorial battle of an area in Spain that was once taken over by the English army. My project ‘Spaniards in Hackney’, honours the numerous and ever-growing Spanish population in Hackney to continue to playfully pull the leg of the Londoner and with a wink, prove how the table can turn!
